General Overview | Tyler has always been one to want to know why and how things work. As a child and young man he was a tinkerer and found it easy to understand the ins and outs of starship systems. He figured watching his father and his colleagues around various Federation starships inspired him. His love for the Federation and its ideals have been present his entire career from the Academy to his current position as Commanding Officer of the USS Concord. As a dedicated Starfleet officer Captain Driskill takes his duty very seriously and expects only the best from his subordinates. |
|
Strengths & Weaknesses | Captain Driskill is an expert with Federation technology and starship systems. He’s a compassionate and a strong leader who always puts the needs of others above his own. One of Tyler’s biggest weaknesses is relying too much on some of the Federations technology. The main thing he’s thankful for is the universal translator as he barely scraped by the alien linguistics section at the academy. |
|
Ambitions | Captain Driskill is determined to locate the USS Voyager and return her crew home safely to the Alpha Quadrant. As a career Starfleet officer he would like to follow in his parents foot steps and advance his career into the admiralty. Tyler would also consider it an honor to instruct at Starfleet Academy and possibly inspire the next generation of Starfleet’s finest. | |
Hobbies & Interests | Captain Driskill doesn’t get much down time, but when he does he enjoys working out and martial arts. Tyler is a lover of music and has picked up the guitar, which he is enjoying learning. |
Personal History | Richard and Cindy Driskill had been married for a year and a half before finding out they were expecting their first child. Cindy was nervous and not particularly fond of the idea that she would have to raise her child aboard a Federation starship. In her opinion there were just too many dangers and unknowns but with a little encouragement from her husband and superior officer she gained a bit of confidence and carried on with her duties. After what was a challenging pregnancy Cindy gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Tyler Andrew Driskill was born in the later part of 2332. As the young Tyler grew in age things seemed to get a little more tense for the Federation and her ships. It was then that the Driskill’s decided that the young child and Doctor Driskill would go back to Earth, that way Tyler could have as normal a life as possible and Cindy could still serve Starfleet. Not long after Lieutenant Commander Richard Driskill was transferred to the research and development team on Earth where he would work on the development of future Starship designs. Tyler paid attention to his fathers work and tinkered with any technology he could get his hands on. He made decent grades and had an active social life as he continued on his journey to adulthood. His parents couldn’t have been more thrilled when Tyler became Cadet Driskill and was admitted into Starfleet Academy. Basic studies were relatively easy for the cadet and he excelled at engineering and starship operations. Sadly medical and alien linguistic weren’t as easy for Tyler and he almost failed out of his final year at the Academy, but with some tutoring from his mother he passed with acceptable grades. Ensign Tyler Driskill’s first assignment was surprisingly as a bridge officer. He was completely nervous to serve as Operations Officer aboard a Constitution-class starship. The young officer would serve on the same ship for five years before it was finally retired and decommissioned. However his Commanding Officer requested the now Lieutenant Junior Grade join him aboard his next assignment as Chief Operations Officer and the pair were transferred to the Galaxy-class USS Odin. Tyler would advance in rank and position aboard the Odin with the guidance of his friend and mentor over the years aboard the advanced Galaxy-class starship. With the experience under his belt Lieutenant Commander Driskill is urged to sit for the bridge officers exam and passes with flying colors. Just a few short weeks after Tyler is assigned his first position in the command department as Executive Officer. The USS Davenport is a refit Excelsior-class starship. The new Commander would serve as First Officer for three years before a run in with the Dominion would take their Captain from them. After limping back to safety for repairs, Driskill was promoted to Captain and placed in the center chair. The crew of the USS Davenport would serve together during the Dominion war until the ship was severely damaged and abandoned. After being recovered in an escape pod and spending some time in a medical bay the Captain was placed in charge of project Concord and the USS Concord. A Nebula-class starship that had been refit and given an experimental drive that Admiral Owen Paris was sending to the Delta Quadrant to bring home the USS Voyager and her crew. |
